Tank Setup & Compatibility
Set up with a dark substrate, driftwood, and dense planting with open swimming space in the centre. Floating plants help diffuse light and make these fish feel secure, bringing out their best colours.
Suitable tank mates: Other peaceful tetras, rasboras, Corydoras catfish, dwarf cichlids, peaceful barbs, and rainbowfish. Avoid keeping with aggressive species or fin-nippers.
Breeding
Yellow-Tailed African Tetras are egg scatterers. Breeding can be achieved in a separate tank with soft, slightly acidic water and fine-leaved plants or spawning mops. Remove parents after spawning. Fry can be fed infusoria and baby brine shrimp.
